The summer months bring big surf to Waikiki. The water is calm and the surf ranges from 1-3 feet. There are occasional 4-6 ft. swells. The winter months bring placid conditions, and the surf is usually mild, not reaching above 2 ft. It is important to always check with Beach Lifeguards should you have questions regarding the surf or jellyfish conditions.

During winter months it is possible to see whales spouting and breaching. Turtles and dolphins are also spotted from Waikiki.
